British People express their solidarity with Venezuela and Honduras during the celebrations of the 198th anniversary of Venezuelan independence.

Different British personalities were amongst the invited guests during the celebrations of the 198th anniversary of Venezuelan independence. People expressed their solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution and also condemned the coup d’etat which took place in Honduras last Sunday. The people recognized the achievements President Hugo Chavez has made to Venezuela and the importance of democracy in Latin America, which is why this event was dedicated to the democratically elected President of Honduras Manuel Zelaya Rosales.
Amongst the invited guests were MPs and trade unionists that came to share this special occasion with Venezuela and Honduras.
Adam Weir, a trade union leader from the International Committee of SERTUC, said: “I am very pleased to celebrate Venezuela’s independence and I am very pleased that President Chavez supports the democratically elected President of Honduras and rejects the military coup”.
Colin Burgon, Labour MP and chair of Labour friends for Venezuela said: “It’s a pleasure to be here to celebrate Venezuela’s independence, and there are so many people at the embassy that indicate the interest and the commitment of the Bolivarian Revolution, long live Venezuela”.
Finally, Adam Price, Welsh MP, added: “The Bolivarian Revolution is a great example for the world and a great hope for my people
