Ambassador Moncada acknowledges Honduras during the commemoration of Venezuelan Independence in London.

 

Ambassador Samuel Moncada dedicated Venezuelan national day to the struggle and liberation of the people of Honduras.

“We support the people of Honduras in their struggle for freedom and democracy. Long live Francisco Morazan and Manuel Zelaya,” said Moncada during the floral ceremony in front of Simon Bolivar’s statue at Belgrave Square in London.

Last Sunday, the Honduran military ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya.

Today, the Venezuelan Embassy in London celebrated the 198th anniversary of Venezuelan independence. This special day commemorates the decision to break away from Spain on 5th of July 1811 to build a new nation on the premises of equality and freedom of expression.

Many Latin American ambassadors in London, as well as several military attaches, attended this meaningful ceremony, and afterwards they attended a reception held at the Venezuelan Embassy in London
