The government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses its strong rejection to the coup d'état led by the Honduran military against the constitutionally elected President Manuel Zelaya, and denounces before the International Community the violation of the democratic rights of the Honduran people.

For these reasons,

1. We demand respect for life and personal integrity of President Manuel Zelaya and his immediate release.

2. We demand guarantees of constitutional rights for all Honduran citizens that are, at the present time, in the streets demanding the return of its President.

3. We demand the immediate restoration of constitutional order.
