Decree on Radio of the South Issued

Caracas, Nov 19 ABN.- On Wednesday, Decree N° 7,052 authorizing the creation of the Radio of the South was issued.

According to the Official Gazette N° 39,308, the Radio of the South will be part of the Ministry of People's Power for Communication and Information. it will be based in Caracas and operate all around the country.

The Radio of the South's social aim is to offer radio broadcasting services to spread a real version of the political, social, and cultural diversity of Latin America , the Caribbean, Africa and Oceania.

The Radio of the South will be a model media that will provide information and news of each country and will participate on equal terms with public, private, university and community radio stations, thus promoting the union of the peoples.

The initial capital of the Radio of the South amounts to over US $ 9,302, which will be allocated by the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The Radio of the South will be run by the Assembly of Shareholders and managed by a Board of Directors.
