Caracas, Nov 04. ABN.- The Canaima Project, aimed at promoting at schools the Educative Use of Information Technologies, will include in its educative programs subjects related with the energy and water saving, informed this Thursday the Minister of People's Power for Education Hector Navarro.
During the program “Educando en Socialismo” (Educating in Socialism), broadcast by Radio Nacional de Venezuela, Navarro underscored that the energy and water saving issue is not just a Venezuela's problem, but universal. Therefore, it is necessary to instill a culture of economy into children.
“The drinkable water issue is a matter dealt with in the entire world. For instance, in the days to come, several countries will hold meetings to analyze the vision of the capitalist countries that want to use it all, and the vision of those countries like us that would like to preserve it,” Navarro emphasized.
Also, the Minister of Education pointed out that children must learn that kind of facts. Children will interact with that interactive contents and will bring the concept to their families because, the the Minister explained, the Canaima project goal is that children will produce their own educative content when they develop a full consciousness in the development of learning processes.
“Canaima's content will also include the issues of dengue and the AH1N1 flu, because we must teach kids how to defend themselves from and fight against these diseases, so that knowledge will conjugate their creativity according to the development stage in the educative system,” Navarro highlighted.
Canaima computers are the equipments for children Venezuela is receiving through an agreement with Portugal. The accord contemplates also to set an assembling plant in Venezuela in order to achieve a partial technology transfer.
