Venezuelan governmental policies have increased net schooling rates

The warranty of a net schooling rate, a fundamental figure for the development of the Venezuelan education system, have been fully fulfilled during the first ten years of Revolution, which has been achieved thanks to the policies carried out by the National Government on education.

A statistical report issued by the Ministry of People's Power for Education explains that in 2008 the net schooling rate increased 66.7% in pre-school; 86.2% in elementary school; 68.1% in secondary education; and 42.3% in higher and university education.

These numbers, compared with 1998, when pre-school registered 43.3%; elementary 86.2%; secondary 46.8%; and higher and university education 23.6% shows the significant increase that the net schooling rate has experimented during the Bolivarian Revolution.

Likewise, the aforementioned report emphasizes that there are currently 7.7 million children, youth and adolescents enrolled at the different educative levels. In 1998, there were 6.2 million, which represents an increase of 23.7%.

Curriculum and food

Furthermore the School Food Program is currently caring for 4 million 150 thousand children, compared with only 119 thousand in 1998, which proves the commitment of the Bolivarian Revolution to improve children's quality of life and their capacity to grow healthy.

Another achievement reached by the National Government during the last decade consist on the increase of education facilities going from 24 thousand in 1998 to 28 thousand in 2008.
